Travel Day Continued....

This is yesterday's post as I had Internet issues yesterday & now I'm having issues uploading photos.  For now I'm leaving in the photo comments below so once I get this figured out I know what & where to add them.

My flight to Madrid was very comfy thanks to the empty seat next to me.  It really is nice to be short because I can just curl up across the two seats comfortably which is something you tall people could never do.  Erin, it reminded me of our early morning flights to Detroit for Lexus meetings.

Anyway, the flight was fine & the time went by pretty fast.  Lindsey, there was a dude on my flight with wet/crunchy curls...wet/crunchy curls are not ok anywhere!  When I got off the plane in Madrid we exited down stairs to the tarmac where a shuttle was waiting to take us to customs.  Jenny, you'd be proud I was one of the first in line.  Customs was a breeze but finding the check-in counter was a little confusing at first but I figured it out.  The moving walkways are on an incline in places so it was like a little workout-Mary T. that one was for you!  I do have to say the Madrid airport stinks and it smells like one big public restroom...not appealing at all.

I had a little snack while killing time before my flight leaves.  It was a veggie sammie & it sounded way better than it was & you all know I love my veggies so that's saying something.  My flight boards in about half an hour & I'll try to catch up on some sleep.  I'm not as tired as I thought I'd be but I figure I probably won't have much time to rest once we get to Marbella as the welcome party is this evening.  I should've known better than to write that as I got delayed by a couple of hours but it all worked out.  Luckily I'm able to pretty much sleep anywhere so even though I almost broke my neck a couple of times I still was able to sleep.

I met up with Cara & Alex at the Malaga Airport so we can all head to Marbella together.  We picked up our rental car & had high hopes that we'd get one of their domestics but we got a Chevy instead.  The drive to Marbella wasn't bad & we only had to turn around once.  The hotel is beautiful & you could almost fit my entire apartment in my room...sad but true.  I've attached some pics of the hotel & my view from my patio where I'm writing this.

Tonight we had the welcome party at this amazing villa here in Marbella at the top of a mountain & the dude that drove us home was driving in the wrong gear & went the wrong way so that part was a bit questionable.  Despite the dude going the wrong way and all we still had an amazing time with bartenders that literally cut the tops off the champagne bottles with sabers & scrumptious cauliflower soup that was to die for...just don't count the calories.  Nonetheless here we, Cara and I, are sitting on my beautiful patio awaiting room service...meat and cheese platter sans olives...sorry NCC girls I was just as upset about the lack of olives as you would be.  Attached are some photos from the welcome party.  Enjoy!!
